Welcomes new Executive Director
Glen Mattox, President of RMHC-CP is pleased to announce that Karla Mitchell has been appointed as the Executive Director of RMHC-CP effective November 7th, 2016. Karla brings with her 22 years of professional experience in building valuable relationships, donor engagement and human services. Glen stated that “after an extensive search process guided by North Group Consultants, Karla demonstrated the leadership skills and experience needed to continue the mission of RMHC-CP.”
Prior to joining RMHC-CP, Karla was employed by United Way of the Capital Region for more than 15 years. She has served in various roles such as; Associate Vice President, Vice President of Resource Development and most recently as the Manager of Major Gifts & Planned Giving. During her time with United Way, she focused on creating a robust annual campaign, developing engagement opportunities for donors and corporations, overseeing the operational and strategic direction of UWCR’s resource development efforts and leading successful staff and volunteer teams.
A graduate of Slippery Rock University, Karla holds a Masters in Counseling Psychology and was employed as a Corporate Employee Assistance (EAP) Counselor prior to her service at United Way of the Capital Region. Karla lives with her husband Khan, daughter Jordan, son Asa and their two dogs, Pepper and Bailey, in East Pennsboro Township.
Karla stated “ I love supporting our local community and am honored to now be part of the amazing work that Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central PA does for children and families in need”.

Hershey’s Ronald McDonald House® provides a home away from home for families of children who are seriously-ill patients at Penn State Health Medical Center and Penn State Children’s Hospital.
The Ronald McDonald Family Room® provides a comforting escape and welcome distractions for families of seriously-ill or injured children who are receiving critical medical treatment at Penn State Health Medical Center and/or Penn State Children’s Hospital.
